Imperial bessert Altadis-Angebot auf
Laut msnbc («Imperial Tobacco in new move on Altadis«) hat die britische Imperial Tobacco das Angebot für die Übernahme der spanisch-französischen Altadis von ursprünglich € 45 auf € 47 je Aktie aufgebessert.
Die Hintergründe wurden im beschrieben. Das erste Angebot (s. «Übernahmeangebot für Altadis«) hatte Altadis mit der Begründung zurückgewiesen, dass das Angebot nicht dem strategischen Wert entsprechen würde.
Update, 11. April: Altadis lehnt das aufgebesserte Imperial-Angebot erneut ab. Laut BBC News («Altadis snubs fresh Imperial move«) mit folgender Begründung:
«(…) Altadis said the new approach from Imperial reflected «neither the strategic value of the company nor the diversity of its unique assets, nor its future growth prospects, and so it has unanimously decided to reject it».
